This policy explains how A Curious Adventure handles your personal data when you visit our website or buy tickets.
 
A Curious Adventure is a trading style of Aerial Artworks Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16395333), registered office 57B Riding House Street, London, W1W 7EF. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

When you buy a ticket or get in touch we collect:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your phone number (if you provide one)

  • Billing address and payment details (handled by Stripe — see below)

  • The tickets you've bought and any access requirements you tell us about

  • Any messages you send us
     

 

We also collect limited technical information automatically when you use the website (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site). See the cookie notice for more on this.


Why we use it and our legal basis

Who we share it with


We share your data only with organisations that help us run the show:

  • Stripe — processes card payments. We never see or store your full card number.

  • ShowTimeTickets — our ticketing platform; manages bookings and sends ticket confirmations and (if you've consented) marketing emails on our behalf.

  • Google Analytics — provides anonymised statistics about how the site is used, only if you've consented via the cookie banner.

  • Wix — our website host.

  • Our accountants and professional advisers where needed.

  • Authorities where we're legally required to disclose information.
     

 

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.


International transfers


Some of the providers above are based outside the UK (notably in the US). Where that's the case, we rely on the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, or an adequacy decision, depending on the country. Contact us if you'd like more detail.


How long we keep it

  • Ticket and order records: seven years from the end of the financial year (HMRC requirement).

  • Marketing list: until you unsubscribe, then we keep a suppression record so we don't email you again by mistake.

  • Customer service correspondence: up to two years after the show ends.

  • Website analytics: 14 months in aggregated form.
     

 

Your rights


Under UK GDPR you can:

  • Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong

  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to our legal obligation to keep accounting records)

  • Ask us to restrict how we use it

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests

  • Ask for your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect anything we did before you withdrew it)

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

 

Automated decisions

 

We don't use automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

 

Changes to this policy

 

If we make significant changes we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, email anyone on our mailing list.
